Meet Atka the Eskie

My parents will write more when they get a few minutes, but here is our new foster sister, Atka. She is home and in isolation in our garage, barking really, really loud! Everyone says she is adorable - I haven't been able to meet her yet. Not for at least another week.....

UPDATE: This cutie-patootie little girl is about 12 months old, and while in the shelter, had contracted a bad case of kennel cough. She came to the shelter with a puncture on the front of her throat and several smaller ones around her neck. The staff thinks she was attacked by a coyote. The wounds are healing well, and she is now being treated for the kennel cough. She is so playful and full of life. She is sweet and loving and all puppy! We have to keep her separated from Digby and Prinnie for the next several days, but she is safe and no longer in danger of being euthanized. Oh, and she won't go to sleep unless the TV is on. Eskies!!!

Yours will make such a perfect foster family for Atka (which you didn't tell everyone means "Guardian" in Eskimo)! You are all so loving and nurturing and she will have an Eskie sister to help her learn the "right" way to do things. She is beautiful!

Heeheeheee! It is pretty clear that the atmosphere around your house has changed! And will continue to change. Oh, how she will teach flexibility. Creativity. Spontaneity. And all about LOVE! We wish you well. We know it'll be a challenge ... but we have confidence you'll make it work out just fine. Better than fine. Well!

Love
