Our little Eskie just loves to hear herself bark. In fact she can think of hundreds of reasons to start yapping. Here is the count down of her top ten favorites:
10. The neighbor's dog is in her own back yard getting a drink of water.
9. Our other neighbor is in his own back yard cooking on his BBQ.
8. A small plane or raven flys over head, a cloud floats by or the sun or moon come up.
7. Some one walks by in the common area on the other side of our back fence.
6. She's in our back yard and the neighbor in front across the street starts his lawn mower.
5. She's in our back yard when the air conditioner kicks on.
4. We're going out the door and don't remember to give her her peanut butter filled Kong.
3. We're coming in the door and don't get to her treat jar quick enough.
2. Someone rings our door bell.
And the big number one reason Prinnie barks (drum roll please): When we make her "park it" while we get the dog's food ready. She jumps into her bed, slaps it with her front paw and yaps at us. When we turn our backs to head to the kitchen she jumps out and starts to follow us. As soon as we turn around to face her, she runs back to her bed and yaps at us again. After about the third or fourth time, she'll stay put until we tell them "OK come get it."
The number one reason Digby barks: Because Prinnie does!

I always said that I would love to be your neighbor. Now I have definitely changed my mind - I am GLAD not to be your neighbor with you furry little ones who make way too much noise. Thank goodness the neighbors you do have love you both. Yikes!!!!! But, they sure are cute.
Owl
Just got back from a 7 day vacation and caught up on the blog.
You two really keep busy and what an imagination!!!
Loved the grilled cheese, but please say you didn't eat it.
I have to agree with Owl, I don't like barking dogs early in the morning but then again if your dogs are like you they are not up in the morning
Kitty
Hey Kitty!!! Welcome Back! We missed you!!! Hope you had a great time.
Yes, the VERY first thing we train all of our family members to do is SLEEP IN!!! Actually, they are great with that. Once we are up, all bets are off though.
The grilled cheese??? Great surprise, but, uh.....no...we didn't eat it!!!
Prinnie all of your favorite reasons to bark are on my list, too! But you didn't include my number 1 reason: the mailman or a c-a-t invades our property (or really anywhere on the block that I can see from my window perch)! Got to keep the humans alerted when we are being "attacked!"

Hehe, On your list i think the main one for us is it is our job or so we think to bark loudly when someome is at the door. We must alert everyone in the house!
Woofs,
