Christmas in September

Today was like Christmas in September for the "kids", thanks to a blogger friend, Caboval. She posted some great pictures a while back of her pups receiving a package of goodies from an on-line pet store. Unfortunately, Digby and Prinnie read that post. Afterward, they barked, jumped, yelped and howled, pleading with us that if we were GOOD parents, we would let the man in the brown suit deliver some toys to them too. Being reasonable, we suggested they put their requests on their Santa list and see if he might honor their wishes at Christmas. We thought all was well and done...until today. The doorbell rang, and the kids, as if knowing EXACTLY who it was, barked once and immediately went to the living room to "park it" as we opened the door. We were just in time to see the brown-suited man walk away. Hmmm....a package, but for who? Suddenly, Digby and Prinnie lept on the box as if it were the only thing in the world at that moment. It was apparent the package was for them. After opening the box, they both grabbed a mouth full of toys and headed off to rooms far away. The shipping receipt fell to the floor. On it, we saw the following:

Ship To: Digby and Prinnie
Cost of Shipping: About the value of Merrill Lynch
Billed To: Mommy's Credit Card
Value of seeing mommy's face when she sees this? ..... Priceless!

I would suggest you find a better place to hide your credit cards, who knows what they will get next.

We love that place too! They have great stuff, don't they? And the prices are excellent. Jack, Jill and Kona love when they get packages!

The guy in the brown truck is one of my favorite people, although he sometimes leaves boxes of stuff that I don't care about (like clothes or books). But nothing beats smelling the box and knowing it is for me! It looks like you got some pretty cool stuff, too. When I was a puppy, my trainer told my parents that I needed 22 toys to keep busy and not chew...not to mention endless chewie treats and replcement toys to stimulate my imagination, etc. Use the same argument if your mom complains about the credit card thing.

How cool, a delivered box of new fun things to play with. I bet they loved it. :-)
