So, after a day of trying to figure out how to set up the Barkery site with the shopping cart and shipping features we took the dogs outside for a little play time. Digby and Prinnie love to chase and grab the little balls while Duncan is happy to just run along beside them. Prinnie never wants to give her ball up so we could throw it again. Instead, she likes to accumulate a mound of them and snuggles two or three into her chest while she chews on another. If we try to take one of the little balls, she puts her chin down as if to shield them from our grasp.
Prinnie's BFF, Siku is VERY good at doing "trades". She's so good at it that she'll initiate the game by finding and bringing little sticks to her parents and "offering" them up for trades totally out of the blue. In her little Eski mind it's a win-win situation. Her parents get a little "gift" from her and she gets a yummy treat.
With Siku's little game in mind, we decided to try to teach Prinnie to "trade". Shar went in the house and got a pocket full of little treats. The problem was that Prinnie saw the treats going into Shar's pocket and therefore, had no more interest in chasing after the balls. She thought she would just skip right over the "trade" part and get the treats. It took several attempts to get Prinnie to snatch up a ball so we could try to do a trade. Once she got the ball in her mouth, all Shar had to do was put her hand in her pocket and Prinnie dropped the ball. We didn't even get the word "trade" out of our mouths. Ahhhhh, the power of treats.
More walks!

How cute!

You are creating a monster--beware! Once Prinnie becomes a capitalist you will be waken to make trades and will need to keep treats in the bathroom and will develop a HUGE collection of sticks, stones, pieces of grass, plastic bits wherever the treat bag sits! Note: to Prinnie: You go, girl!
That is the only way we can get Jack to drop a toy too.
By the way, I finally got some cute pictures posted from our "special delivery" earlier this week. Thanks again for all of the goodies! We loved them!
